For older children or young adults, a card with a special note inside is perfect. Give your father tickets for a free car wash by you or your mother a ticket for a meal that you cook, serve, and watch their faces light up Christmas morning.
A great gift for friends or co-workers that love gardening is a gorgeous Christmas cactus or orchid. You could give them a gift certificate to a nursery or a basket filled with gardening accessories such as gloves and plant food. You can do the same for a sports lover with tickets to a game or a jersey of their favorite team. For sports people, give them personalized golf balls, new fishing lures or even a jersey of their favorite team.
